NEC NT620
1957
It is a delightful, horizontal, six-transistor, slim shirt pocket radio
from Japan. A strikingly simple design with a big '6' on the face. Made in
Japan by Nippon Electric Company Ltd. (NEC). There are two small chips
missing from the back. It is in otherwise excellent condition and works.
Strangely, the dial does not have the markers for the civil defense
stations you would expect to see. |

Red Panasonic Panapet and Box

This very cool Panasonic transistor radio is in great condition. It's
still in working order, and what a bonus to get it with the original box.
The box shows all of the Panapets that were available at the time. Very
popular, despite the fact that it is younger than most collectibles.

Planatair 16404 (World's Smallest Radio...)
196?
Well, okay, it's not the world's smallest radio, but that's what the
box says. It also boasts that the radio is "germaium
operated," which is French--er I mean Japanese for a crystal set.
Nice early sixties radio with some "wire marks" created by prior
owners wrapping the earphone and antenna wires around the plastic case.
Don't do that! By the way, that's a fake speaker grill, since this is an
earphone-only toy. |
